During finals week of each semester, the bookstore hosts a book buy back. Buy back is a service provided for students that allows them an opportunity to turn some of their textbooks into cash. This also allows the bookstore to replenish its textbook inventory.
Buyback Policy
The bookstore attempts to purchase as many textbooks as possible, however, there are conditions that exist that prevent the bookstore from purchasing all textbooks. These conditions may include one or more of the following:
- The instructor has discontinued use of the textbook for one or more reasons. In this instance, the textbook will no longer be used on campus.
2. The bookstore is overstocked and does not have the resalable space or demand to purchase that particular textbook.
3. The textbook is not in resaleable condition, therefore it cannot be purchased for the bookstore.
The buyer attempts to purchase the books back for one-half the purchase price of the book, however, due to many factors, prices may be much less. Textbooks not being purchased for the bookstore may be purchased by the book wholesale company that conducts the buy back. These textbooks are purchased at a wholesale price that is determined by the company conducting the buy back.
